Roses. Gin. Pie Cookies.

April 2026 Newsletter

The English gardens at McCully House are in full bloom. Color everywhere. Fragrance you notice before you even reach the gate.

This is our favorite time of year. Not because we planned it that way. Because the garden earns it. Every spring, it does something new. A climbing rose finds a new wall. The lavender comes back fuller. The patio tucks itself into all that green and becomes the best seat in Jacksonville.

We have been busy matching the garden’s energy. Room 14, our Jacksonville Suite, got a full refresh, and the private garden patio is a true oasis. Jane McCully’s pie cookies are back on the bakery menu. And when the afternoon warms up, we pour a White Linen and sip it all in.

Come feel the magic of the gardens,

Kathryn & Phil

WHAT’S NEW AT THE INN

McCully Pie Cookies

Jane McCully baked pies to save this inn. That is not a metaphor. She baked, she sold, she kept the lights on. We’re celebrating Jane’s pies, a delicious indulgence, a nod to the past with a modern twist.

Pie cookies. The newest dessert craze has roots over 150 years deep right here at McCully House.

We are bringing them back. Flaky, buttery, and impossible to eat just one. Find them in the bakery.

Featured Spirits:
White Linen

Summer is coming. You can feel it in the air when you sit on the patio in the late afternoon. This is when we pour the White Linen.

Born in Sacramento in 2008, bartender Rene Dominguez created it at the Ella Dining Room. It caught on fast. The Shady Lady Saloon made it a regular. It belongs to California’s farm-to-glass philosophy, and it fits perfectly in an English garden in Jacksonville.

What is in it
Gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon, cucumber. Served tall over ice with sparkling water. Crisp, cool, and exactly right for a warm afternoon in the garden.

Each sip is a nod to summer.
